Top 50 Favorite/Best Classical – #35 Chaminade Guitare, Op. 32

Cécile Chaminade has her second entry here in my Top 50 Favorite/Best Classical with this lovely little piece for piano entitled Guitare, Op. 32. What I love about this piece is the blending of Spanish guitar style with French sonorities. Chaminade is a master of gorgeous melodic ideas and here she gives a lovely, nostalgic magical experience.

Not enough people out there know about Cécile Chaminade. I hope this piece, and the earlier “La Lisonjera” help more people get into her music. She’s worth your time. Here is a recording of Guitare. Enjoy.
